Castle Builder II is a sequel to Rabcat’s popular Castle Builder slot, which combined RPG mechanics with traditional slot gameplay. The sequel was released back in 2017 and has remained popular among Rabcat fans for its exciting gameplay and gorgeous visuals.
The Castle Builder slot sequel is set at the top of a large hill in the fictional land of New Forana, where you will build your castle. The slot’s reels are shaped like a castle’s wall with the game logo floating at the top of the screen and your current avatar beside it. Symbols in the game include wood, brick, granite, and iron, rings, gold bars, treasure chests, crowns, and the king.
The Castle Builder slot sequel uses a 5×3 layout with 15 paylines, and the game has an RTP of 95.5%. The game has medium to high variance, which means you’re more likely to make infrequent high wins than frequent small ones. When playing, you’ll need to bet between £0.15 and £30 per spin, with a chance to win up to £10,000 times your bet. To make these wins, you’ll need to match three or more identical symbols on a single spin and payline.
At the highest bet, the highest-paying symbol is the crown, which pays £100 for landing three times, £1,000 for landing four times, and a maximum of £10,000 for landing five times. After this, the treasure chest pays up to £2,000, the gold bar pays up to £1,000, the ring pays a maximum of £500, and the iron, granite, brick, and wood symbols each pay £200, £100, £60, and £40 respectively.
In addition to creating winning combinations, you’ll need to construct a castle. This is done by winning construction materials by spinning the reels. Materials include common wood and brick, rare granite, and very rare iron. You’ll need to keep collecting construction materials until you’ve fully loaded a pallet, and the materials will then be added to the construction area to create a castle.
Once you’ve completed a castle, your prince or princess will have to choose an admirer to marry for big wins. Admirers are attracted by castles, and the more castles you’ve built, the more admirers you attract. Admirers only unveil their prize until after the wedding, so choose wisely.
After completing a castle, you’ll be tasked with visiting another region of New Forana to continue building castles, allowing you to explore the vast fictional world. The game also has achievements which you can see in the lobby to track your progress within the game.
When starting up the Castle Builder slot, you’ll be asked to choose between one of three avatars; Sam and Mandy who are available right away, and Igor who is unlocked once you’ve completed the game at least once. Each avatar will have different features, which you can read about here.
Each avatar acts as a wild symbol that substitutes for all other symbols and helps create a winning combination to boost your winning chances. The wild Mandy symbol does not substitute for scatter symbols and the Igor wild always covers an entire reel.
When playing as Mandy, free spins symbols appear on the reels. Landing three or more of these symbols will trigger the free spins mode with 10, 15 or 20 free spins. The free spins cannot be retriggered within the feature.
The game has four cup challenges; bronze, silver, gold, and diamond. By completing the game for the first time, you unlock the bronze cup and each subsequent cup on following playthroughs. The level of the cup will determine how much construction material is needed to complete sections of a castle. After completing the bronze cup, you unlock the free building mode, which allows you to freely build castles.
